Silly Girls and Surgery

We had a play date the other day with some of my high school girlfriends and their girls. It was so much fun! The girls had a great time playing dress up and dancing to music. We have been getting together every other Wednesday at each other's houses. It is so surreal to have our daughters play together. Some of us have known each other since grade school and now our daughters are playing together. WEIRD! Here are a couple of pictures from the morning.

SURGERY: Today I got to be in an operating room and watch a surgery. It was so cool! I got to see a robotic right colectomy. Which means they were using a robot to take out part of the large intestine. It felt weird to be in there and watch everything. The robot was so neat. I got to look through what the doctor uses to do the actual surgery. The surgery was from 8am until 1pm. Very long. Being in the operating room was not what I expected. People were coming and going. People took turns taking breaks. People were coming in to ask questions. People were answering their phones and looking up vacation spots to Florida during the surgery. I know, crazy! There was a lot of joking around (in a good way) and telling stories. They were very focused when working with the robot. It was a very exciting experience!

The whole surgery atmosphere is not very comforting at this time. Nate is having surgery in a few weeks and the thought of them planning vacations makes me a little nervous....just kidding! Sounds good to know that they are so comfortable in there...no fainting robin?
